The hotel had indeed a marvellous and incredible location in the centre of St Martin on Ile de Re. Street food restaurant Do-re-Mie was located 5 minutes walk away. Variety of good coffee, tea, cereal, and pastries, I thoroughly enjoyed it...
Well, the area was bustling overall.

It was an oasis of charm and relaxation within the centre of the thriving harbour town of St Martin De Re.Good location for exploring the island on foot or more naturally by bike. Pleasant gardens and old buildings tastefully converted into a very comfortable and relaxing hotel. Wonderful but simple braekfasts enjoyed indoors or outside in the courtyard.
Our lovely and spacious room was at the front of the hotel facing what seemed a quiet and manily pedestrian ....until the commercial activity around the harbour closed down in the early hours of the morning! A nuisance but the hotel; itself and its position made it bearable!

Location was fantastic, 100 metres from centre of town but very peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast outside in the gardens was a tremendous experience
It was an expensive hotel justified by the location and the fantastic building, however for that price there were basics missing. No room service, no ability to have a drink in the beautiful gardens, charging for a bottle of water! It is usually free in budget hotels? These were annoying small issues that niggled and would prevent me recommending

Charming in the il de re kind of way. Cozy, traditional furnishings. Friendly staff, warm smiles every day. Centrally located.
Breakfast expensive. Not much offered, considering the price.

The hotel had character and was set in beautiful surroundings. The people were very welcoming.
The en-suite bathroom was separated from the bedroom by a glass panelled screen which was inadequate and gave the impression that the bathroom was actually in the bedroom. The room was also very expensive all things considered.

A lovely old building really well located moments from the front and restaurants etc. Charming and slightly olde worlde - certainly not pretentious. Liked the secure private parking area - although they charged a lot for it.
Very sadly the spa was not ready as planned - not sure I'd call the premises 'hotel and spa', as this seems to be a log cabin in the garden with very few facilities - from what we could see it rather detracted from the charming garden.
